Traditionally, Thanksgiving is the day we give thanks for everything we have. A day we gather together to take part in a great feast! In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, the SOE Community Team is throwing a special SOE Thankful Turkey Feast: Live on Ustream!

We are pleased to announce that beginning December 17, 2009, SOE will no longer charge separately for access to Station Players premium features for each of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, EverQuest and EverQuest II. Access to standard and premium Station Players features will now be included at no additional cost for all subscribers to each of these games (with active, paid subscriptions in good standing.) Station Access subscribers with active, paid subscriptions in good standing will continue to have access to all Station Players standard and premium features.

From 6:00 AM PST until 8:00 AM PST on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, SOE Account and Commerce flow, Station Store and the Station Marketplace will be unavailable. We expect this maintenance to take approximately 2 hours.

This downtime may also cause some forum accounts to temporarily lose permissions, due to the inability to verify account status while the maintenance is taking place. This is only temporary and normal permissions will return automatically once the maintenance is complete.

We apologize for this interruption and will resume all affected services as soon as the maintenance is completed.

Get ready Norrath! The phase of the moon is just right and the mushroom rings will be active again for a short time.

The event will turn on at 12:01am PDT on November 20th and run until 11:59pm PDT on November 21st. These times apply directly with no time conversion to all servers.

Our exploration of Freeport takes us to Stonestair Byway this week. As all the Freeport hoods are, Stonestair is a bit on the dingy side. We're fairly certain that there is no cleaning crew. There is a certain amount of amusement to be had when you first see the inhabitants of this hood. It seems the erudites and kerrans just can't get away from each other. Sadly enough, no fights broke out while we were exploring. Maybe next time...

Today marks the debut of the epic documentary EverCracked! The Phenomenon of EverQuest, available exclusively on IGN.com. The five-part weekly series, hosted and produced by Jace Hall, chronicles the trials and tribulations leading to the development, launch and success of the genre-defining massively multiplayer online game which celebrated its tenth anniversary in March 2009. The first installment is available here.

Sentinel's Fate will be available for pre-order beginning on Thursday, November 12, 2009! Sentinel's Fate will be a compilation pack, containing the previous five expansions and three adventure packs. Sentinel's Fate is EverQuest II's sixth expansion, and marks the return of Odus to Norrath. New and veteran players alike will find tons of new content for all playstyles to explore.. Races and Race/Class Combinations FAQ

When creating a character, how many races can I choose from in EverQuest II?
There are 19 character races in EQII.  Of these, 14 were playable in EverQuest: frogloks, halflings, dwarves, high elves, wood elves, iksar, trolls, ogres, dark elves, barbarians, erudites, gnomes, half elves, and humans. The vah shir are no more, but you can play one of their cousins, the kerra.  We have also introduced a rat-like race called the ratonga..  The fairy races called the fae (Good) and the arasai (Evil) were introduced with the Echoes of Faydwer expansion. The half-dragon sarnak were introduced with the Rise of Kunark expansion.

November 11th Veterans/Remembrance Day is celebrated by many throughout the world. It marks the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, which ended the fighting in World War I back in 1918 however it doesn't just honor that occasion, it is a holiday to celebrate the cause of world peace. What this day is really about is honoring our troops and their loved ones, both past and present, for all they have done for this country and our world.
