On Thursday night, SOE Community Relations team members, Grimwell, Gnobrin, Minerva and Amnerys, hosted a Meet & Greet party at Jillian's in downtown Indianapolis. The room was filled with players from our EverQuest, EverQuest II, Star Wars: Galaxies, The Matrix Online, Vanguard and Legends of Norrath communities, and even some Pirates (of the Burning Seas variety).
This year Online Gaming Radio has 3 of its staff attending; Dellmon, Akira, and Luxx. Dellmon isn't primarily representing OGR, he's just there to do what dwarves do best! However, Akira and Luxx will be roaming around the convention with laptop mics and camera in hand providing live video and audio coverage as they travel around the convention. You'll be able to spot them easily by their OGRe shirts!
For those not attending Fan Faire, you can access OGR's coverage by visiting their Fan Faire page!

From the pen of Eylee Zephyrswell -- Finally, we all came together, and that was when things began to become truly dangerous.
Of New Friends and Troublesome Enemies Part 1
The sensation of being taller than so many people put Eylee ill at ease. She had always been petite for a Fier'dal, and in the plainsmen's settlements she had been forced to crane her head up to look at some of her taller companions. Here in Rivervale, however, she felt as though she were a giant. At one point she had caught her reflection in a window and despite being surrounded by a crowd of bustling individuals, not a one of them had even been able to reach her shoulders. She'd caught herself staring at the oddity and practically came to a stop, causing the bustling halfling behind her to bump his head square into her back.
Beginning at 3:00 PM PDT on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 all SOE account and commerce flow and the Station Store will be unavailable for maintenance. The game forums may also be affected during this maintenance period.
We expect this maintenance to take approximately three hours. During this maintenance period game servers will still be accessible. We apologize for this interruption and will resume the affected services as soon as the maintenance is completed.
Before you get too far into the forums, it's a good idea to read the Forum Rules of Conduct.
It's also advisable to read the announcements and sticky threads at the top of each forum you go into, because very often we've stickied important topics, or ones that are a good reference for the topics in the forum.
Announcements and stickies automatically go to the top of the first forum page. Announcements have a lighter gray background behind them and stickies have a dark gray background.

10 years ago, while EverQuest was in beta, a group of volunteers came together. These volunteers selflessly gave their time to helping players in EQ with customer service issues and spent time participating in impromptu quests to bring more enjoyment to the game. The volunteers were known then, as well as now, as Guides. Guides started out making appearances in EverQuest and grew into EverQuest II.
Over the years the program has evolved from guides helping with customer service issues full time and impromptu questing to questing full time and helping with very minor customer service things on a part time basis.
Whatever the guides' roles have been throughout the last 10 years, without their selfless giving of time and their tireless efforts, the games would not have been the same.
Guides, on behalf of all the SOE game connoisseurs, SOE Customer Service personnel and especially the SOE Community Relations team, we thank you for all you do!
